Social Media and Marketing Internship – Nonprofit Arts Organization
First Coast Cultural Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to bring the arts into the life of the community through Arts Education, Exhibitions, and Outreach, and by honoring a Donor-Driven Philosophy.
This is an unpaid communications internship opportunity to be used for college credit for the Fall 2022 semester. Under the direction of the Programs and Community Connections Managers, the Social Media and Marketing Intern will manage all social media platforms for the First Coast Cultural Center, as well as work on the marketing of Cultural Center programs. As part of a small, hardworking team, the intern will be responsible for meaningful tasks and projects, gaining significant professional experience with a well-known institution in the Ponte Vedra/Jacksonville Beach area.
The ideal candidate for this internship will be self-motivated, hardworking, and conscientious, demonstrate a professional demeanor, and must have strong communication, organization, and writing skills. The intern should be comfortable taking on responsibility and working independently, but also able to collaborate with colleagues and accept direction and feedback from supervisors. Candidate should be proficient in Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Some experience designing graphics and/or utilizing design and publishing tools like Canva is not required but would be helpful.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- High quality content creation to be used for all social media platforms.
- Maintaining all social media platforms by following a content calendar.
- Creating monthly social media reports, using analytics to show follower growth/retention/loss, click rates, and number people reached through posts.
- Designing program marketing materials such as brochures and newspaper ads.
- Assistance in mailing marketing materials to advertise programs.
- Post upcoming programs and events on local calendars.
- Researching locations for distribution of hard copy flyers or brochures and delivering/posting materials accordingly.
- Researching community locations, groups, businesses, and events to identify opportunities for FCCC to conduct outreach.
- Drafting program descriptions for arts programs like classes, workshops, afterschool programs, exhibits, or camps, and posting to our e-cart system once approved.
- Assisting with basic inquiries from members of the public or other communications via phone, email, or in-person.
- Assisting with basic administrative or programmatic tasks as needed.
- Representing the FCCC at arts markets or other community events.
Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled in a matriculated program, pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree at an accredited institution and provide documentation of your degree progress.
- Must receive approval from program advisor to receive class credit for this internship.
- Must be at least in sophomore class standing.
- Must have 2+ years of experience using social media.
Hours are flexible, dependent on your availability and internship requirements provided by your college or university; minimum of 10 hours weekly. A hybrid schedule each week, with some time on-site at the Cultural Center in Jacksonville Beach during standard business hours, combined with some time working from home, is permitted. Access to transportation in order to occasionally travel to other locations in the local community is ideal, but not required. This internship will also be available in Spring 2023 to a new or returning intern.

Position Overview
In collaboration with the First Coast Cultural Center (FCCC) Management Team, the Bookkeeping position is responsible for ensuring the consistent achievement of the Center’s mission. She or He provides professional administrative, support to the President/CEO. She or he operates in an organized, efficient, and professional manner. She or he has the necessary leadership skills to work effectively with the Board of Directors, staff, donors, and volunteers to accomplish the strategic goals of the Cultural Center.
