First Coast Cultural Center Health & Safety Protocols
CDC recommends universal indoor masking for staff, students, and visitors when indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Masking is recommended but not required at First Coast Cultural Center.
Temperature checks will no longer be a daily routine when staff, students, or visitors arrive.
Supplies, including access to soap and water and/or hand sanitizer, will be available to support healthy hand hygiene behaviors.
Enhanced sanitation practices will continue in our facilities to ensure clean, healthy studios, excluding ceramic classes due to the nature of this class/camp. Hand sanitizing and frequent hand washing breaks are encouraged.
If exposed, fully vaccinated people should get tested at least 5 days following a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, even if there are no symptoms present. The CDC recommends that exposed individuals wear a mask in public indoor settings for 10 days or until they receive a negative test result.
Most fully vaccinated people with no COVID-like symptoms do not need to quarantine or be restricted from work or activities following an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 if they follow the testing and masking recommendation above.
Close contacts* who are not fully vaccinated should be referred for COVID-19 testing at least 5 days after suspected or confirmed exposure to COVID-19. The CDC states that an individual should immediately quarantine at home for a minimum of 5 days after exposure and a well-fitting mask for 10 days after initial contact when in a public setting. It is recommended to avoid close contact with people who may be more likely to get very sick from COVID-19.
*Close contact - Someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinically compatible illness) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes). An infected person can spread SARS-CoV-2 starting from 2 days before they have any symptoms (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days before the positive specimen collection date), until they meet criteria for discontinuing home isolation.
For Anyone Who Has Been Around a Person with COVID-19
Regardless of vaccination, anyone who has had close contact with someone who has COVID-19 should get tested at least 5 days after exposure, watch for symptoms until 10 days after exposure, and wear a mask for 10 full days while around others or in a public setting.
Fully vaccinated people should get tested at least 5 days after exposure to COVID-19 and wear a mask for 10 days, however quarantine is not required unless the individual develops symptoms. If symptoms develop, vaccinated individuals should get tested and stay home until the test results are known.
People who are not up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations should get tested at least 5 days after initial exposure, quarantine for at least 5 full days, and wear a mask for 10 days after initial exposure. If symptoms develop, non-vaccinated individuals should get tested and stay home until the test results are known.
Someone who has had COVID-19 illness within the past 90 days and has recovered does not need to quarantine but should watch for symptoms and wear a mask until 10 days after the last close contact. If symptoms develop, a person who has had COVID-19 within the past 90 days should get tested and stay home until the test results are known.
According to the CDC, A person who gets symptoms of COVID-19 after initial contact can end isolation after 5 full days if the individual has been without a fever for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and has improving symptoms. However, wearing a mask is still recommended for 10 full days.
